ERBOL MYRZABOSYNOV MET WITH SPORTS VETERANS ON THE EVE OF THEIR PROFESSIONAL HOLIDAY

18.08.2025

As part of the first national Forum of Sports Veterans, the Minister of Tourism and Sports congratulated distinguished athletes, coaches, and sports figures. Among the participants were Olympic champions and medalists, world champions, honored coaches, and mentors who have made a significant contribution to the development of national sports.

“Since the beginning of this year, we have been actively working to establish systemic support for sports veterans. At my instruction, we have started compiling a unified list of all sports veterans across the regions. This will allow us to determine what support measures are possible. In the future, together with local administrations, sports federations, and other competent bodies, a support mechanism will be established — assistance with employment, medical care, and involvement in the development of mass sports. Your names are inscribed in golden letters in the sports history of our country, and we are already supporting many of you. This work will continue,” the Minister said.

He also noted that today more and more distinguished athletes who have completed their sports careers are being engaged in management and public administration — becoming heads of sports departments and federations. Before their appointment, they present a sports development plan for the region/federation, based on their professional experience. This measure ensures continuity in sports and the exchange of expertise.

It should be reminded that in honor of Sports Day, more than 150 events will be held across the country, most of which, following the Ministry’s recommendations, will be dedicated to honoring sports veterans, distinguished coaches, as well as to mass and children’s sporting events.

The participation of sports veterans in the development of national sports is not only a symbol of continuity but also a contribution to building a strong and professional system.
