ERBOL MYRZABOSYNOV AWARDS WINNERS OF THE ASIAN TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIP AND THE SUMMER UNIVERSIADE

Minister of Tourism and Sports Erbol Myrzabosynov met with the champions and medalists of the 32nd Summer Universiade and the Junior Asian Taekwondo Championship.

The event was attended by President of the International Taekwondo Federation Dr. Chungwon Choue, President of the Taekwondo Federation of Kazakhstan Kudret Shamiev, coaches, and young athletes.

In his welcoming remarks, the Minister expressed gratitude to Dr. Choue for his contribution to the development of taekwondo at the global level.

Erbol Myrzabosynov congratulated the winners and medalists of the international competitions, emphasizing that their achievements are a source of pride for the entire country. Samirkhon Ababakirov became the champion of the 32nd Summer Universiade in Germany. Gold medals at the Junior Asian Championship in Malaysia were claimed by Ayim Serikbayeva, Buned Bakhramkulov, and Aruzhan Naimanbayeva. Special recognition was given to Ayim Serikbayeva, who was named the best athlete of the tournament, as well as to her personal coach, Erkebulan Ermekaliyev, who received a letter of appreciation for preparing the athlete.

Acknowledgment was also expressed to the head coach of the national team, Yesbol Sultanov, for his significant contribution to the development of Kazakhstani taekwondo and his successful work with the team.

"Today, the state has created all the conditions for your growth. Each of you has a coach who works with you individually. Today’s victories are the result of years of hard work, systematic training, and sincere dedication to your craft. You represent Kazakhstan on the world stage with honor and dignity," the Minister emphasized.

The athletes were presented with certificates of honor, letters of appreciation, and federation certificates.

It should be noted that from August 14 to 16, the international ranking tournament Kazakhstan Open 2025 will be held at the Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace in the capital. More than 750 athletes from 22 countries are expected to participate, including Olympic champions, world championship medalists, and leaders of the world rankings. The competitions will cover three age categories: cadets, juniors, and adults.
